SCERT Himachal Pradesh Textbooks 2022 The Himachal Pradesh State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT Himachal Pradesh) has released available on the website textbooks for the 12th class (SCERT Himachal Pradesh). Candidates who are studying 12th class can obtain the detailed textbook and lesson-by-lesson syllabus in PDF format. For the convenience of the candidates, questionspapers.co.in offers a class- and subject-specific complete syllabus along with the URLs for every subject.

Board of Secondary Education, Himachal Pradesh (HPBOSE) and SCERT Himachal Pradesh will release upgraded versions of textbooks every year. Students need to check the official dashboard of SCERT Himachal Pradesh regularly to download the e-books in PDF format. Every year HP Board of School Education will distribute textbooks to poor students, now for the sake of students who are not at a stage to buy a textbook, SCERT Himachal Pradesh every year releases the original textbook in an accessible format.

About Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education:

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala came into existence in 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 with its head-quarter at Shimla later shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. The Board started with a staff of 34 officials which has subsequently increased to 643. The Education Board prescribes syllabus, courses of instruction and textbooks for school education in Himachal Pradesh besides conducting examinations based on courses listed.

At present, the Board conducts examinations for the following classes and courses: 10th, 10+2, J.B.T and T.T.C. As many as 5 Lakh candidates annually appear in the examination conducted by the Board. Presently more than 8000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Board has set up 1846 Examination centres throughout the state. Board also publishes textbooks for classes 1st to 12th. Apart from a Liaison Office at Shimla, the Board has also established 26 Book Distribution & Guidance/Information Centres in the state to cater to the needs of students.

Functions of SCERT:

• College of School Education was established in Solan in 1954
• Converted into State Institute of Education (SIE) in 1970
•  SIE was entrusted the task of preparing programmes and policies from Primary Level to Senior Secondary Level by the State Government
•  SIE was restructured as SCERT on the pattern of NCERT in 1984
• SCERT was converted into society in 1997 with a provision of grants-in-aid by the Government
•  The grants-in-aid was not released well in time hence the staff remained without salary for months together
• In view of the above difficulties State Government reviewed the situation and agreed to meet the salary and other requirements like office expenses, travelling expenses from the budget of Higher Education
• Budgetary allocation by the Government is hardly enough to qualify for functional autonomy hence its status and role has been reduced to any other Educational Institution.
