AEET was designated as BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center) in 1966 after Dr Bhabha ‘s death on 22 January 1967.

B. who would love to be a part of an expanding program of atomic energy / Research Reactors, Accelerators, and fuel Cycle Technologies, and
C. who would enjoy pursuing innovative research in frontier areas of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biosciences, Geology and Geophysics.They are respectively called Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) and DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS).

Screening to short-list candidates followed selectively Interviews of the short-listed candidates.

A. Screening for Selection Interviews relies on two alternative methods:

BARC Exam Pattern 2022:
The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) officials will select candidates for the BARC Scientific Officer post based on the following selection process.
- Stage 1 – Preliminary Test
- Stage 2 – Advanced Test
- Stage 3 – Skills Test
Here applicants will come to understand the entire BARC Exam Pattern. The Exam Pattern will help the candidates to understand about how the questions are asked, no. of marks, etc. BARC Nurse, Scientific Assistant, Stipendiary Trainee Exam are conducted in 3 stages.
Stage 1- Preliminary Test
Prelims exam will encompass 50 multiple-choice questions and therefore the time duration are going to be 1 Hour.
Each correct answer are awarded 3 marks.
There are going to be a negative marking of 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Premils Exam is to only shortlist the candidates to the following stage 2 Exam.
Stage 2 – Advanced Test
The Test will comprise 50 multiple choice questions of two hours duration.
Each correct answer are going to be given 3 marks.
There are a negative marking of 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
A merit list of the candidates are provided supported the stage 2 exam.
Stage 3 – Skills Test
Based upon the Merit List prepared after Stage-2, candidates are going to be shortlisted
for Stage 3.
